Students may choose to study their third term at one non-European partner university to further specialize in various topics or to familiarize themselves with a particular regional perspective on global processes in order to be more prepared for the master’s thesis by means of fieldwork and archival studies. The partner universities contribute to the programme in very valuable ways, and students profit greatly from the wide range of regional and topical expertise provided by these universities. Students are required to take courses amounting to 30 ECTS.
EMGS students are hosted by the Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) and can specialize in the partner programme “Global Studies with a special emphasis on Peace and Security in Africa”.
The term begins in October and ends in January.
Students need to take 3 courses (10 ECTS each).

EMGS students are hosted by the Department of International Development Studies (IDS) and can specialize in international development and cooperation between the Global North and Global South.
Fall term courses start in the beginning of September and end in the beginning of December.

EMGS students are hosted by the History Department and can specialize in current Chinese geopolitics and Pacific cooperation.
The fall term starts in September and lasts until January.
ECTS: Students need to obtain 12 “Fudan Credits”, which are equivalent to 30 ECTS.
Courses: The majority of the courses should be from the history department, but single courses can also have selected from other departments.
EMGS students are hosted by the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning and can specialize in social economic analysis of South Asian caste systems and their opening to global cooperation.
Fall term courses start in mid-July and last until the beginning of December.

EMGS studenst are hosted by the Department of Modern History, Politics and International Relations and can specialize in questions of ecological and climate policy in the Anthropocene.
The courses start in July and last until December.
Requirements: Students need a grade point average of 2.5/4 and English language proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent)
ECTS:
For European students, 12 Macquarie credit points are equivalent to 30 ECTS, meaning that the average 3–credit point Macquarie subject is equivalent to 7.5 ECTS and 4–credit point subject is worth 10 ECTS.
Therefore students need to attend three courses. Especially recommended are those in the field of Modern History:
- MHPG912: World Historians (supervised preparation of a research paper of about 5000 words)
- MHPG847: Rewriting History (1x 3500 word paper, 1×1500 test (completed in their own time, not a formal exam)

EMGS students are hosted by the Department of Politics and can specialize in new regionalisms from a South Pacific perspective.
The term starts in the beginning of July and runs until November.

EMGS students are hosted by the Department of Global Studies and can specialize in the interdependency of North, South, and Meso American globalization projects.
The fall quarter starts in September and lasts until the end of December. It is recommended to arrive a month before courses begin in order to find housing and to prepare the coursework.

The UCSB has published a video in which scholars from around the world discuss their understanding of Global Studies.
EMGS students are hosted by the Department of Political Science and can specialize in integration processes in Southern Africa and post-apartheid transition.
Students should arrive by mid-July in Stellenbosch. The term runs until the end of November.
ECTS: Courses are usually 10 ECTS per course and are fully transferable.
Requirements: Focus on International Studies in the Undergraduate Courses. Grade point average of 65% in the final year.

EMGS students are hosted by the Faculté des Arts, Lettres et Sciences Humaines and can specialize in the global role of Francophonie as international organization and cultural network.
The fall term runs from October until January.
EMGS students usually take 5 courses (6 ECTS each). Courses are mainly offered in French.
