Today the EMGS programme welcomes over 100 participants to the first Digital Summer School. We would of course have preferred to meet in person at the shores of the Baltic Sea, however now we have to make the best out of it!
After an opening with a key note by Fiona Dove (Transnational Institute) we will in different formats discuss the challenges and consequences of the current covid-19 crises. Scholars from different academic fields from the various partner universities of our consortium will join the debate with our students, including colleagues from Dalhousie and Stellenbosch.
There are also two student-driven workshops: one on „Making the Classroom a Safe(r) Space: Promoting Intersectionality“, and a second on creating an Online Student’s Journal for Global Studies. We have also invited some alumni of our programme, now working in various fields such as NGOs, international organizations, journalisms, or private consultancies. We of course also will prepare for the next academic year in administrative meetings and Master Thesis workshops. We are looking forward to meeting you in our digital coffee rooms and the electronic tuck shop!
