Five reasons to join Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association

I am Danuta Gruszka a recent alumna of our programme (2022) and I am the current programme representative of EMGS to the Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA). I would like to encourage all EMGS students and alumni to become an EMA  member and access some of the opportunities EMA provides. Please find in the following a brief description of EMA and the benefits it offers to its members.

What is EMA and how to join?

EMA is a vibrant and diverse community of over 14,000 people from all around the world who have participated in EMJMD programs. By joining EMA, you will have the opportunity to connect with fellow students and alumni, network with professionals in your field, access professional and personal development opportunities, volunteer for the EM community, and take part in other exciting activities and projects.

To join EMA, all you need to do is register on the community portal at https://members.em-a.eu/ (it is easy and free). Once you are a member, you can access all the benefits and resources that EMA has to offer.

Five reasons to join EMA:

  1. Networking opportunities

EMA provides a platform for students and alumni of various programmes to connect with each other through the EMA Community Portal. By joining EMA, you can tap into a vast network of individuals with similar experiences and interests to find job opportunities, get advice on career paths, and even collaborate on projects.

  1. Access to job opportunities

EMA provides job opportunities and career resources exclusively for its members. These opportunities can include job postings, internships, and fellowships. As an EMA member you can also access career advice and guidance from professionals who are familiar with your Erasmus Mundus journey.

  1. Professional development opportunities

EMA offers various professional development opportunities, such as workshops, webinars, and training sessions. By participating in these events, you can continue to grow your competences in areas such as leadership, communication and project management. You can also volunteer in various projects within EMA and benefit from some project of our partner organizations.

  1. Cultural exchange

Erasmus Mundus programs are known for their emphasis on cultural exchange, and EMA continues this tradition by organizing cultural events and activities, such as language exchanges and social gatherings. By joining EMA, students and alumni can continue to expand their knowledge and understanding of different cultures, but also connect with people in places to which their post-EMGS journey may take them.

  1. Advocacy and representation

EMA advocates for Erasmus Mundus students and alumni, representing their interests and concerns to policymakers and other stakeholders. EMA has a strong presence in European Union institutions and actively participates in discussions and initiatives that affect Erasmus Mundus students and alumni. As an EMA member you will have a voice in these discussions and help shape policies that affect our futures.

By taking advantage of these benefits, you Erasmus Mundus journey can continue beyond the two years of the program.
