Global studies is a multifaceted field, and the topics investigated are in constant flux. The EMGS programme takes up this challenge not only with regard to student mobility and its curriculum, but also by developing new forms of teaching through different media and forms. Online, blended, and distance learning enables students to attend courses and earn their credits in case they are not able to travel. Lecturers can easily share their expertise with students from all over the EMGS Consortium through distance-learning technologies. These new technological format will be further integrated in the future to enhance the cross-university integration of the EMGS Consortium, with particular attention paid to the non-European partner universities.

E-LEARNING DURING THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC
The spread of SARS-CoV-2 has forced universities worldwide to enhance their capacities and skills for distance learning. A programme such as EMGS faces particular challenges: not only do its students come from all world regions, but also its very essence is based on student and teacher mobility. To compensate for travel restrictions and to uphold the high quality of the programme during these challenging times, member universities are offering a variety of strategies.
All partner universities are moving temporarily from on-campus to online learning in order to secure academic continuity.
For the academic year 2022-2023, Ghent University expects most teaching to take place on campus (code green), possibly in combination with online teaching (hybrid teaching). In the winter semester 2022/23, University of Wroclaw will offer classroom teaching with the option to switch to hybrid teaching should it be necessary due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The didactic activity (lectures, seminars, workshops, etc.) during the summer semester 2021 at University of Wroclaw was provided in a completely remote formula (Microsoft Teams). Students were also given the opportunity to take part in Orientation Days, a preparatory Polish language course, a semester Polish language course, as well as other online foreign language courses. In addition, University of Wroclaw provided online lectures and workshops with the participation of foreign experts (including the European Union Institute for Security Studies in Paris, the European Security and Defense College in Brussels). The students furthermore took part in an online visit to the European Commission on a CISCO WEBEX platform in the area of migration and forced displacement. The local EMGS office in Wroclaw was in constant contact with the students.
